Financial Accountability

Adding machine paperOhio Citizen Action is a non-profit tax-exempt membership organization, incorporated in 1976.

Full financial disclosure

Ohio Citizen Action members and the public deserve to know how this organization’s money is raised and spent.

We will not disclose, however, the names of our members, directly or indirectly. We provide aggregate information on dues and other small contributions, but not those of individual members. Only large individual contributions are identified.

Money and politics

As a matter of policy, Ohio Citizen Action does not endorse candidates for office, nor contribute to candidates or parties, nor take any action implying an endorsement, such as giving its mailing list to a candidate or providing in-kind staff assistance by organizers or canvassers. The organization does not rent its mailing list, offices or phones to candidates, nor accept website or other advertising from public officials, political candidates or political parties.

When we are campaigning for a state or local ballot issue, we sometimes contribute to the ballot campaign organization, and disclose those contributions.
