AK Steel agrees to new pollution controls in Middletown



CINCINNATI — AK Steel and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency have reached a settlement over air nuisance claims from residents living near the company’s Middletown works.

According to statements from the company and the EPA, the steelmaker has agreed to install $66 million in pollution controls at its Middletown furnaces one year faster than required by federal law.
