NORTHFIELD — “Ohio sits on a large field of oil and requires a new technology and many different chemicals to explore the resources. Although the chemicals seem to be necessary currently, the irresponsible dumping and lack of reporting needs to be controlled. We do not thoroughly understand their use in the process and how they may affect well water.
It is my belief that one day the chemicals pumped into the ground will resurface in the region’s wells and affect the water. Until we know for sure about the environmental impact, we should have better controls. I support all reporting of the chemicals used in the fracking process.”
