Clean Energy Rally in Medina

MEDINA – On Tuesday, November 13 we were in Medina to tell Senate President Larry Obhof that we need more wind energy in Ohio. Over the past four years, Ohio has missed out on $4.2 billion of new revenue to our energy sector. This happened because, in 2014, our state legislature passed an amendment to the budget bill that restricted where wind turbines (windmills) can be built in Ohio. The new law increased the distance a wind turbine needs to be from a property line or building, preventing construction on projects that had already been approved and discouraging any new investment in wind energy for our state. Two new bills have been put forward that would fix this wind setback law (SB 238 and HB 604), and they need yours and Sen. Obhof’s support!

Tuesday is the first day of our state legislature’s lame duck session, so we made sure Sen. Obhof started off the session knowing constituents from his hometown are in favor of wind development.
