Dear Mr. Rogers,

Thanks for investing $1.5 million in wind and solar power last year….it’s too bad that it wasn’t in Ohio (which you conveniently leave out of your letter). And those state of the art plants that you say you are building are in NC and IN which are still not in Ohio. Meanwhile, our state ranks #1 in toxic air pollution and you are wasting time trying to “make coal cleaner,” as if you actually can. From cradle to grave – from extraction, cleaning, pulverizing, burning, and scrubbing, to disposal, coal is a dirty resource that destroys communities. I think that your time could be much better spent. At the end of your letter you said, “And yes, we are making plans to retire some of our older, high-emitting and less efficient coal plants.” Instead of feeding Ohioans a line of you know what about all the great things you’ve done in other places, why not get down to business and have a productive dialogue about these plants? Our lungs would really appreciate it.

Come to PA..you will find a ton of
“reasonable honest adults that HAVE signed away the rights to a potential fortune and the rights for a large company to ‘rape’ their property (Mother Nature) without due diligence in investigating all the facts available to them. Unfortunately…one reason is pure GREED..some, is pure econimics…they have no where else to turn..so any lies of this industry sound good…many of these areas are econimically crippled and poor….as long as these people see a way for them to could keep thier homes…they are willing to go along with them…(they just don’t realize the “state” of thier homes will be in, in the end;(

Knowledge is power! The gas companies know this and retain their knowledge of what fracking does to the environment and communities. Thank you for posting this and keep learning about the dangers of fracking and the long term effects. The film “Gasland” is a MUST SEE for everyone in this nation to get an idea of the results of fracking.
