EPA sets public hearing in Charleston on repealing Clean Power Plan

WASHINGTON, DC — “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday it will hold a public hearing later this month in Charleston on the Trump administration’s effort to repeal the Clean Power Plan, the Obama administration rule aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.

The EPA announced in a press release that the public hearing would be held Nov. 28-29, and could be extended to Nov. 30, if the agency receives ‘a high volume’ of requests to speak.

The EPA announced on Oct. 10 that it would move to repeal the Clean Power Plan, and the hearing is part of the formal process of doing that. The EPA said it may hold additional hearings at other locations, but that those would be announced later.”
