Icebreaker Wind Public Hearing – July 19, 2018

CLEVELAND — Please join Icebreaker Wind supporters and attend an important public hearing at Cleveland City Hall Council Chambers, 601 Lakeside Avenue at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 19.

Last week, the Ohio Power Siting Board staff gave Icebreaker – the first fresh water offshore windfarm in North America – tentative, conditional approval.  After exhaustive review that took nearly 18 months, we were very pleased to hear that the staff said that the project “serves the public interest” and poses “minimal adverse environmental impact”.

But it is still a long road from here to approval, and we have a great deal of work to do.  And now, as we get closer to the finish line, a minority of citizens who oppose this exciting clean energy project have ramped up their efforts and plan to pack the room on the 19th to speak against Icebreaker.

Please attend and show your support for Icebreaker, clean energy and economic development.
We encourage you to sign up to testify.  Doors will open around 5:30 pm to sign in to speak.
