CARROLLTON — “To regulate the activities of landmen, Okey has introduced House Bill 493, known as the ‘Truth in Leasing Act,’ which would guarantee basic leasing protections and a minimum royalty to Ohio’s landowners, similar to those found in neighboring states.
Among its provisions is one that would not allow landmen to operate in Ohio unless they registered and obtained a registration certificate from the chief of the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management.
The bill has been assigned to the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee, where Okey said it is stalled.”
