Ohio Citizen Action (OCA) today announced our endorsements for the 2026 election cycle, including statewide and Congressional candidates, a candidate for Ohio State Representative, and a ballot issue position. The endorsement slate reflects OCA’s commitment to candidates who will fight for energy affordability, renewable energy deployment, and the protection of Ohio’s democratic process. Ohio needs representatives who consistently put people over politics.
Ohio families are paying the price for years of failed energy policy. Electricity prices have risen 56.5% since 2021, renewable energy projects are being blocked across the state, and utility special interests continue to write the rules at the Ohio Statehouse. At the same time, voting rights remain under threat. Ohio Citizen Action is ready to mobilize Ohioans around candidates who will put people over special interests and fight for an Ohio that works for everyone.
“Ohioans are struggling with record-high electricity bills while their elected officials look the other way,” said Scott Palider, Ohio Citizen Action’s Chief Political Officer. “The candidates we are endorsing today understand that energy affordability is not a partisan issue, it is a kitchen table issue. They are committed to bringing cheaper, cleaner energy online, holding utilities accountable, and making sure Ohioans are not left footing the bill.”
The following candidates and issue have been endorsed by Ohio Citizen Action for the November 2026 election
“The stakes in November could not be higher for Ohio families,” said Palider. “Ohioans deserve an energy policy that keeps costs in check, brings affordable and reliable power to the grid, and stops picking winners and losers among fuel sources. The candidates on our endorsement slate are committed to that vision. But none of it happens without voters showing up. We are taking that message directly to Ohioans by knocking on doors, having real conversations, and making sure every voter knows what is on the line this November.”
As part of its independent expenditure work, OCA begins knocking on doors today and talking with Ohio voters in targeted areas around the state in support of endorsed candidates and issues.
OCA endorsements are approved by the Board of Directors and reflect the organization’s commitment to candidates who put Ohioans first on energy affordability, accountability, and voting rights.
